Hi there, nice to finally meet you.

I'm Donn, and I shoot weddings because I love telling stories. It took me a long while to decide what kind of stories to tell, and weddings were definitely not my first choice. I remember thinking that hyper-posey wedding photography was such a cliche (and I still do) and that's why no matter how gorgeous the location, I try my utmost to always remind myself that the photos are about the people.

Any breathtaking scenery is merely the cherry on top.

When I'm not photographing weddings however, you can probably find me hanging out with my friends and their dogs, on my Cervelo Caledonia along Tanah Merah Coastal Road or playing FIFA at home. If you like animals/riding road bikes/playing FIFA, I think we can be friends :)

My journey started in 2012, when I had the chance to be a part of Objectifs' Junior Shooting Home programme. I think that was where this whole obsession with visual storytelling began. The idea of documentary photography gave the very kaypoh  boy that I was the bravery to put myself in places where I wouldn't have dared to be, if I didn't have my camera with me.

After my time in the National Service, I enrolled into NTU's School of Art, Design & Media as a Photography Major. Influenced by paintings, sculptures and everything in between, my wedding work started to evolve into what it is today. If I had to describe it some way, I'd say my style is a cross between old war photos and fine art paintings, and I absolutely adore shooting in natural light.

Ultimately, I love creating images that tell a story; images that don't just answer questions but pose their own too.

If you're someone who appreciates genuine and true emotions, you're in the right place.
